Michael Seymour

Obituary of Michael Charles Seymour

HAMMOND PLT- Michael (Mike) Charles Seymour, 28, passed away unexpectedly February 8, 2021, at a Bangor hospital.  He was born December 12, 1992, in Bangor, the oldest child of Laurie and Alphonse Seymour.

Mike grew up in, and spent his entire life in Maine (a Mainer through and through!). He often spoke fondly of the farm where he spent most of his childhood in Levant with his family. Mike attended both Messalonskee and Hermon High School, eventually graduating in 2011 from Hermon High School.  Naturally, Mike was an avid outdoorsman with a love for fishing, ice fishing, and hunting. In addition, he was passionate about four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and Chevy and GMC trucks. He could often be found working on one of those trucks during his younger years with his grandfather. Mike had a very big heart, loved children, and would help people as much as he could. He was boisterous, and loved to tease his siblings and anyone else around.  Although he worked several jobs in the Houlton area during the last two years, including Pine Land Farms, Mike started out his career as part of the original crew of Ranger Construction in Fairfield. This is something he was extremely proud of, and he considered Ranger to be a part of his family.

He was predeceased by maternal grandparents Robert and Marilyn (Phillips) Mullen of Levant; paternal Grandparents Harold and Violet (Denbow) Freeman of Hermon.  Mike is survived by fiancé Haley Sanford of Hammond Plt.; mother Laurie (Mullen) Seymour of Fairfield; father Alphonse Seymour and his wife Linda of Homosassa, FL; very special aunt Sue-Ann Seymour of Levant, whom he loved very much; brother Matthew Seymour and partner Lauren McClain of Benton; sister Tara Seymour of Berlin, Germany; several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Mike’s caregivers at Houlton Regional Hospital and Northern Light EMMC Hospital.

A graveside service will be held 2 PM Friday, June 4, 2021 at Snows Corner Cemetery, Fuller Road, Hermon. A celebration time will be held afterward from 3 - 8 PM on Friday at Morgan Hill Event Center, Route 2, Hermon.  Messages and memories may be shared with the family at kileyandfoley.com.
