Obituary of Patrick Thomas Burke

Patrick Thomas Burke, 72, a life-long resident of Bangor, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021.  He was born on July 14, 1948 in Bangor to Edward and Ann Burke.

He was a graduate of John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor, Class of 1967, and from the East Coast Aero Technical School in Lexington, MA in 1970. He was employed by the University of Maine at Orono in the Facilities Department for 35 years.  Patrick was a life-long member of the Catholic community in Bangor. He was an accomplished vegetable and flower gardener. He had many other interests including wood-working and fresh-water fishing. He was also an avid reader of mysteries and historical fiction. He enjoyed following his favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox. 

Patrick was a beloved brother and uncle and he will be missed greatly by his family, friends and neighbors. He is survived by brother Michael Burke and wife Roberta of Nashville, TN; sister Kathleen Burke Terwilliger of Concord, MA, and her daughter Lilah Terwilliger Katz and husband Marc of Bedford Hills, NY; nieces Jennifer Drake and Jamie Drake of Westbrook; several cousins. He was predeceased by sister Lisa Burke Drake. He will be missed by neighbor and long-time family friend Rita Dulany.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
