Obituary of Cheryl A. Pinkham
Cheryl Pinkham passed peacefully to be with the Lord, her Savior, on March 23, 2021, with her devoted family by her side. She was born on February 26, 1947, to Muriel and Charles Gardner in Bangor, Maine.
Cheryl was a devoted mother with unwavering faith in God who worked three jobs to send all four of her children to Bangor Christian School. Cheryl was a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center for 42 years. She faced every day in her career with purpose and radiated love on patients in her care.
She is survived by her husband and soul mate, Dennis Pinkham, the love of her life for the past 33 years; their beloved dog, Oliver, and her children, Todd Pinkham and his wife Angelika, Troy Pinkham and his husband, Scott, Tina Pinkham and her husband, Curtis, Toby Pinkham and his wife Stephanie, Tony Pinkham and his partner Jackie, and Lance Pinkham and his husband, Jeff. She loved and adored her 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family sends a heartfelt thank you to the caretakers at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, Maine, where she spent her final days. The team surrounded her with respect and love through the very end. One of her last statements before she left earth was, “God blessed me with good nurses.”
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Cheryl Pinkham’s memory may be made at umainefoundation.org/memorial (or mailed to the University of Maine Foundation, 2 Alumni Place, Orono, ME 04469-5792) to be added to the Cheryl Ann Pinkham Nursing Scholarship. The fund is established to provide financial support for Certified Nursing Assistants employed at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center to support their pursuit of a nursing career.
A celebration of life will be held 3 PM Friday, March 26, 2021, at Messiah Baptist Church, 985 Union St. Bangor where a visitation time will be held from 2 PM until the service begins. In compliance with CDC guidelines, please observe social distancing and wear a face covering. Please be aware that space may be limited at times to maintain state-mandated limits on the number of people allowed for an indoor gathering.
