Obituary of Charles E. Stevenson

Old Town--Charles Edward Stevenson, 38, passed away unexpectedly July 10, 2021.  Chuck was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1983, in Colorado Springs, CO.

Chuck’s early birth resulted in Cerebral Palsy, but he was a fighter all his life.  He graduated from J.L. Mann Academy in South Carolina and, despite his physical limitations, lived independently most of his adult life.  He enjoyed Special Olympics and time spent at Windy Gap Camp in North Carolina.  He never used the word “can’t” and lived life to the fullest.  A devout Catholic, Chuck was a 3rd Degree member of the Knight of Columbus.

Chuck is survived by his mother Ann Brown; brother Sean; grandmother Teresa Dwyer Brown; uncle and godfather Richard Brown, Jr.; cat Miss Ellie; many friends.  He was predeceased by brother Mike; grandfather Richard Brown, Sr.; great-grandparents Fred and Inez Dwyer; uncles John and Fred Brown; cousins Jimmy and Amanda Brown; and his father.

Chuck was a special person to many.  In lieu of flowers, please keep him in your prayers, remember him during Mass, and think of him and his laugh often.  Fly high little one, you were a special gift from God.  You loved until your heart gave out.
