Obituary of Barbara Joan Dandaneau
Barbara (Jody) Dandaneau, 82, passed away at home in Bangor on August 30, 2021. She was born November 2, 1938, in Bangor, the daughter of Isabel and Harold Orriss.
She graduated from John Bapst High School, Class of 1957, and went to work at The Bangor Credit Bureau. She also worked for the Federal Extension Service and was a Teacher’s Aide at St. Mary’s Grammar School. She was the long time Secretary/Treasurer of the Lucerne Beach Club. She loved her time spent at Lucerne with her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time with her children grandchildren. She especially loved spending the month of April with her family on St. Simons Island, Georgia. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as an excellent cook. No one ever left her table hungry or without dessert. Her grandchildren called her “Candy Nanny.”
She was predeceased by her parents; daughter Danyell Dandaneau; sister Peggy Dionne; brother-in-law Joe Dionne; sister-in-law Angela Hart. Barbara is survived by her high school sweetheart, husband George Dandaneau; daughter Lucienne Moore and husband Rick of Hampden, and their children Jacob, Whitney, and Conar; son George Dandaneau and wife Dawn of Ripley, OH, and their children Zac and Chris; daughter Gabrielle Dandaneau and husband Steve Case of Virginia Beach, VA; sister Marie Ciernak and husband Jerry of Hustisford, WI; sister-in-law Alice Martin and husband James of Holliston, MA; brother-in-law David Hart of Brewer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM, Monday, September 27, 2021, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. In following guidance of the Diocese, masks are requested for all attending.
