Eugene Muller

Obituary of Eugene Ernest Muller

Eugene Muller, 102, passed January 11, 2022, from Covid. He was born November 11, 1919.

Gene lived his life on his own terms. He was a WWII Veteran, a businessman, a building superintendent. He was mechanically gifted and worked well into his 80’s. Always very active throughout his life, he was known to ride his motorcycle, and later a bicycle, everywhere and in all sorts of weather. He ate everything and drank his daily dose of wine. He disliked doctors and never took medicine. He loved to talk about his theories, politics and history. On his way to live in Alaska, Gene stopped in Maine to visit a friend and never made it to Alaska because he liked what he found in Maine.  Until a few days before he died, he lived in his apartment alone. He was married to Maria, a beautiful lady inside and out, who was well loved by all who knew her. She passed in 2016.  Gene and Maria were deeply devoted to each other. They did not have any relatives in the Bangor area but they were loved by their community.

Gene is survived by special nieces Roberta (Bobbie) Hufnagel Prickett and Pat Taylor; three great-nephews, one great-niece; four great-great nephews; five great-great nieces; two great-great-great nieces; one great-great-great nephew.  He and Maria held a special place in the hearts of the Wells family of Brewer. Gene predeceased the love of his life, Maria; sisters Winifred Muller Hufnagel and Dorothea Muller Smith; niece Joyce Hufnagel; and by many friends.
