Obituary of Linda Marie Montgomery

Winterport—Linda M. Montgomery, 72, died of cancer on May 15, 2016, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born July 15, 1943, in Portland, ME to Linwood Hammond and Edwina (Hackett) Fletcher. Linda was a graduate of Hampden Academy, Class of 1961. She taught horseback riding lessons for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping, fishing, horseback riding, knitting, and visiting with friends. Linda was predeceased by her parents; stepfather Cliff Fletcher; brothers, William and Donald Hammond. She is survived by sons Toby and wife Marsha Montgomery of Frankfort and Casey Montgomery of Montréal, Quebec; daughter Tamra Mongomery-Redmond of Frankfort; granddaughters Josephine Ginise and Caroline Redmond of Frankfort; sister Eleanor and husband Donald Rhodes of Winterport; nephew Paul Kinne, Jr. of Brownville; nieces, Marie Gibbons of Murrieta, CA, Ruth Dunbar of Holden, Kathy Urquhart of Winterport, Joyce Hammond of Stockton Springs; sister-in-law, Arthelene Hammond of Rockwood; many relatives and friends who loved and adored her. Family and friends are invited to visit 5-7 PM Thursday, May 19, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, May 31 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport with the Rev. Suzie Gowie presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Monroe Community Church, P.O. Box 805, Monroe, ME 04951.
