Obituary of Linda L. Bernier

On April 1, 2022, Linda Levesque Bernier, 77, passed peacefully in Bangor after years of chronic illness. Linda is the daughter of Edgar & Georgette (Vezina) Levesque, born October 12, 1944, the same day her father shipped out to France during WWII.

Linda graduated from Sanford High School in 1962 & University of Maine, Orono in 1966, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Linda remained in Bangor after graduation and taught elementary school for almost 20 years. She left teaching to manage the video stores that she and her husband owned & operated. Linda also worked in other occupations that she enjoyed, the last being at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Linda cherished her family & friends. She enjoyed going to the beach & music festivals, eating seafood & her beloved cats. She took pleasure in the small things in life and always remained grateful for her fond memories of better days. She had strong faith, and did not let her illnesses define her.

Surviving are her only son, Jeffrey S. Bernier of Bangor, who became her devoted caregiver when she could no longer manage alone, which allowed her to remain in her own home until she passed; Jeffrey’s father, former husband, Robert E. Bernier; her sister, Cynthia Levesque Laprise of Springvale; nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, & her brother-in-law, Roger J. Laprise. Linda’s deep faith allowed her to believe that she would be with them again upon her death.
