Obituary of David Wayne Bessey

David Wayne Bessey, Jr., passed away after a long struggle with medical issues. 

 

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Don and Connie Stickney; cousins Zebulun Carpenter Levitt and Alicia Bessey; nephew Theo Bessey. He is survived by his parents, David and Betsy Bessey of Brownville; paternal grandparents Ted and Eva Bessey of Palermo; two brothers Christopher Bessey and his wife Lindsey, Gage, Sierra and Nora of Milo, and Joshua Bessey and his partner Destiny Powell of Milo; uncles and aunts Carole Ann and Richard Glueck, Donald Stickney ll, Susan and Russell Bushnell, Peter Stickney, Paul and Karen Stickney, Theodore and Dale Bessey, John and Patricia Bessey, Everett Bessey, Rose and Phillip Dow, Yvonne “Diz” and Steve Carter; many cousins, Kendra, Tristan, Everett, Donald lll, Holli, Clara, Emily, Dorothy, Amanda, Amber, Erin, Connor, Shandelle, Cheyenne, Marissa, Phillip III, Brittany, Jacob, Rebecca and Justin.  He leaves a very special friend and confidant, Jessica Murray and her son Aiden, who regarded David as a wonderful role model.

 

David was a very special young man who had a heart of gold and was a champion for the underdog.  He worked at a homeless shelter in Bangor as an intake person, Staples, Radio Shack and had his own computer repair business.  He was highly thought of in his community.  Many who knew him referred to him as a gentle giant.

 

There will be a service at The Brownville Community Church on September 9, 2022, at 3 P.M., followed by burial at the family homestead on Stickney Hill in Brownville.  There will be a time for stories and sharing at a luncheon provided by the ladies of the church afterwards.   All are welcome to participate and share, as they feel able.
