Obituary of Vicki Joy Spearing

Vicki J. Spearing, 85, wife of the late Harold G. Spearing, died Nov. 1, 2022 in Bangor. She was born June 29, 1937 in South Brewer, the daughter of Keith and Leah (Abram) Goodkowsky.

Vicki was a 1955 graduate of Brewer High School and she worked for both Eastern Maine Medical Center and Mayo Regional Hospital in office administration for many years. Vicki was always the peacekeeper and was loved by all. She enjoyed family and close friends, Mr. and Mrs. Phil McTigue, Mary Andrews, Pat Snow, Cheryl Tardif and Nabisco friends. She also loved camping with her husband Harold, sister Paula and brother-in-law, Dan. She especially enjoyed making fudge and giving it to family and friends.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Vicki was predeceased by her two daughters, Bonnie Cochoran and Patti Butera. Brothers, Milton and Karl Goodkowsky and sister, Paula Hennessy.  Surviving are grandchildren, Stephanie Green-Averill of Madison, Alabama, Joey Green and his wife, Erika of Alton, ME, Brandon Croan and his wife, Sandi of Longmont, CO, Shayne Croan of Corinth, Maine and Logan Butera of Charleston, ME; several nieces and nephews and four great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit 5 -7 PM Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A graveside service will be held 10 am Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1048 State St., Bangor. Those attending are asked to meet at the Superintendent’s Lodge, State St. entrance at 9:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
