Obituary of Frederick Lee Day

Frederick “Fred” “Freddy” Lee Day

September 30, 1981-December 2, 2022

Bangor - Frederick “Fred” Lee Day was born on September 30, 1981, in Bangor, the son of the late Charles W. Day and late Alice M. Hurd. A beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend sadly lost his life far too soon on December 2, 2022.

Fred attended Good Will Hinkley School where he graduated in 1999. Throughout his adulthood he worked various manual labor jobs. He completed some college courses with hopes to help others in difficult situations. Fred had an unforgettable smile; he would say he had a Jokers grin. He enjoyed making others laugh and bringing life wherever he was. Fred had a heart of gold and would help anyone he could, even if it meant going without himself. He was amazing with children; truly enjoyed spending time making them laugh and having fun. Fred loved and appreciated family and friends unconditionally. He always had the best intentions in life. He will forever remain dear to our hearts and is loved deeply. He will be missed tremendously. The memories will forever be cherished.

Fred is survived by his sister Charla Burnett and husband Chris of Winterport; brother, Robert Day of North Carolina; Sister, Lorna Parker and husband Donald of North Carolina; Stepsister Hope Smith and husband Dave of Milford, Stepsister Sheila Wickett and partner Calvin of Florida, Stepfather Richard Hurd of Bradford. Fred is also survived by nieces and nephews: Dakota, Mercede, Trevor, Christopher, Shelby, Josie, Kathryn, and Jaxen. Life is short. Offer a hand, not judgement. Every person has traveled a road in life; some roads are smoothly paved and easily travelled. Others are dirt roads, bumpy with many unexpected obstacles. No one truly knows what road a person has travelled to get where they are in life, or what obstacles they have encountered along the way. Be kind. Be thoughtful. Be compassionate.

A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at 12:00pm Wednesday,  January 4, 2023 at The Rock Church, 1195 Ohio St. Bangor, ME 04401.  In lieu of flowers, individuals can donate warm clothing such as gloves/hats/jackets/blankets to the Main St. Shelter- 263 Main St. Bangor, ME or The Brick Church- 126 Union St. Bangor ME; or make a donation to The Rock Church. Those unable to donate- do something extraordinarily kind for someone.
