Douglas C. Danforth, 83, husband of Rosemary S. (Braley) Danforth, died unexpectedly July 7, 2023 at his home in Brewer. He was born March 18, 1940 in Bangor, the son of Clyde and Louise (Wood) Danforth.

Doug was a lifelong resident of Brewer and worked for more than 30 years as a machine tender at Eastern Fine Paper. Doug was very passionate about biking and playing his drums. He was the drummer of “Wildwoods Band”. He was happiest while “jamming” all over the state of Maine, but his heart belonged to Knights of Columbus Hall in Lincoln. 

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Rose Danforth of Brewer; four children, Douglas Danforth and his wife, Colleen of Brewer, Suzanne Ripley and her husband, Ed, Michelle Tall and her husband, Erik all of Brewer and Joseph Danforth and his wife, Lisa of Holden; two sisters, Marlene Libby of Holden and Susan More and her husband, Ricci of Holden; nine grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Eric, Emily, Justin, Abby, Kylie, Aden and Blake; 5 great grandchildren, Kaden, Camrynn, Brody, Liberty and Lottie; nieces and nephews and a special brother-in-law, James Braley and his wife, Becca. He was predeceased by his parents and by two sisters, Virginia and Mary Elaine. He will be remembered by best friends, Ron and Linda Rines and will be missed by many.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. Messages and memories may be shared with his family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
