Obituary of Arthur L. Tracy
Arthur L. Tracy, Jr., 53, husband of Nicole J. (Beane) Tracy, died unexpectedly Oct. 15, 2023 at his home in Holden. He was born Nov. 11, 1969 in Fort Fairfield, Maine, the son of Arthur L Tracy, Sr. and Eleanor E. Bohan.
Art was a graduate of the Class of 1988 from Woodland High School in Baileyville. While Art owned and operated family businesses with his wife including Twin City Speed Shop and Art's Service Center in Brewer, he was most often found in his firewood delivery truck operating his “retirement” business, Affordable Fuel.
Art was an avid basketball fan, the sport bringing him happiness whether he was watching, cheering on Amanda’s Unified team, playing, or coaching a game. Some of his favorite times were on the water or tending a campfire in the “Hood” at Brewer Lake and snowmobiling trips up North. He enjoyed operating everything motorized, varying in age, type, make (usually a Dodge) as long as it had enough horsepower!
Surviving in addition to his wife of Holden, is his daughter Amanda Tracy of Holden, and
stepson Andrew James, wife Ashley and grandson Griffin of Lewiston; his in-laws, Paul and
Jan Beane of Greensboro, NC; his sister-in-law of many years, Rhonda of Millinocket; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan and Talitha Jones of Cornwall, NY, Kip Curtis and Marcela Estevez-Curtis of Dublin, OH, Johanna and Jim Schimmel of Greensboro, NC, Zachary Beane of
Talmadge, Shanna Beane of Buffalo, NY, Amity and Owen Libby of Damariscotta, aunts and uncle, Nancy and Skip Flagg of Holden, Betty Wright of Caribou and Dottie Tracy of Westbrook, as well as multiple cousins and many nieces and nephews, near and far.
He was predeceased by his son, Nicholas Tracy in 2017, his brother Louis Tracy, and his parents.
Listed above is his family by name but Art’s “family” extended well beyond to include those who both helped him through the toughest times and joined his infectious smile to enjoy the best of times. If you were part of that large community, you knew. He thrived on finding or being the solution to fill the needs or wants of all around him. If you were part of his world, you knew you had better buckle up for the ride! He lived Large, He loved Large, and his absence will leave such a Large hole in our hearts.
