Ila Maxine Davis

Bangor - Ila Maxine Fearon Davis, born December 7, 1929, passed away peacefully at Northern Lights Hospital, Bangor, ME on March 23, 2024.

Maxine is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Rosemary Jansen and husband Frank of Lexington, S. Carolina, Heather Karam and husband Glenn of Bangor, ME;  she was the proud grandparent of Alexander Jansen and wife Andrea of Newton, IA, Hannah Barnes of Whitehall, PA, and partner, Sam Kottmann as well as Aaron Jansen and wife, Renay of Clover, S. Carolina; three great grandsons, Zachary Barnes, Lucas Jansen and Roen Jansen including several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Alfred “Tang” Davis; daughter, Laurel Barnes; grandson, Adam Barnes; three siblings, Iva Leiter, Ross Fearon and Joseph G. Fearon.

A longtime member of the Union Congregational Church in both N. Reading, MA and Bath, ME, Maxine was a former school librarian in Massachusetts before her retirement. She was a prolific reader of many topics and enjoyed participating in her book club. She was also a dedicated rug hooker, engrossed in dying her own yarn and creating lovely intricate patterns for wall art. When healthy, she also enjoyed traveling and gardening in her extensive yard. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. 

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Blue Star Highway, Augusta. Messages and memories of Maxine may be shared with her family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
