Obituary of Keith A. Lackedy
Eddington & Orrington - Keith A. Lackedy, 79 of Eddington/Orrington, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024 at NL/EMMC. Keith was born December 6, 1944 in Bangor, the son of Charles and Evelyn (Cushing) Lackedy.
Keith grew up in Bucksport and graduated from Bucksport High School in 1963 and the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. In 1968, Keith married his sweetheart Connie. In 1972, they moved their growing family to Brewer Lake in Orrington. That was the beginning of their wonderful adventures and love story. Keith retired from Bucksport Paper Mill as a paper inspector after 41 years. He wore many hats & uniforms as a Deputy Sheriff, Animal Control Officer and Boat Race Director. The one he loved most was being a fun loving and silly husband, dad, and grampy. Keith enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren, watching them play sports, teaching them to drive a stick-shift, and he especially loved their delicious baked treats. Keith had a need for speed. A ride with the top down in the Vette, Mustang or on the Harley was more fun with Connie. Drag racing motorcycles, snowmobiles and speed boats, with his pit-crew family. His favorite boat was the tunnel hull with a 300hp motor, named Blue Thunder.
Keith leaves behind the love of his life, wife Connie, daughters Kimberley (Patrick) Joyce, Carol Lackedy, Christina (Michael) Larrabee and Jill Crawford. Grandchildren, Timothy (Rachel), Tyler (Casey), Hannah, Brooke, Kayla (Jon) and Jordyn. Great-Grandchildren, Harper, Hunter, Emersyn, Dawson, Enzo and Nina. A cousin that was more like a brother, Wayne (Gloria) Bunker and cousin Carol Bunker. Uncle Raymond (Lyn) Cushing. Keith will be missed by his loving and faithful fur-baby Tank. A special friend, Raymond “Red” Perry who passed away recently.
Keith’s family would like to thank Dr. Comeau, the Brewer and NL-EMMC Davita Dialysis, the Spiritual Care Services, the Grant 6 nurses, CNA’s, the Palliative-Comfort Care doctors and support team of NL-EMMC, along with the Brewer Center of Health and Rehabilitation therapy team, nursing staff and transporters.
