FUNERAL MASS LIVESTREAM HERE

Jane Mahon, 82, peacefully passed away at home on May 20, 2024 with her husband, David Mahon, by her side. She was born at home on November 25, 1941 in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire to the late Wilfred and Yvonne (Lacasse) Lampron.

Jane, the youngest of 10 children, grew up in New Hampshire where she spent lots of time with her brother Dick, attending church with family, and playing outdoors with friends and her dog Butch. She attended Brewster Academy and graduated in 1959.

In 1960, Jane and her first husband moved to Maine and started a family. She gave birth to 5 children and raised them in Brewer, ME. In 1976 she married her second husband, Dick True, and together parented their combined family until Dick’s passing in 1982.

Jane, a two-time cancer survivor, was an incredibly strong and selfless woman who loved caring for (and always worrying about) all of her children and grandchildren, no matter how old they were. Her family was her priority and she always showed up for them. There was nothing she wouldn’t sacrifice in order to create a happy home and cherished memories for those she loved. She found great joy in entertaining and no family gathering was complete without her chocolate chip brownies and famous Mexi-dip.

In addition to being a homemaker, Jane worked for over 30 years at the Brewer IGA Coffee Shop. This is where she met her husband, David Mahon. He would come in and order a single cup of coffee just to get the chance to see and speak with her. On July 20, 1985, Dave and Jane married and moved to Carmel, ME. Together they were devoted parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and avid golfers. They enjoyed visiting and traveling with her niece Marie Glidden and her husband Dennis of Wolfeboro, NH. They also spent time with Jim and Carolyn Mahon and Regina and Melvin Ross. For years they had a standing Sunday morning breakfast reservation at the Coach House, often taking over the back room when the whole family would decide to show up and join them.

Known together as Mamma and Grampy, they were committed to going to every single sports game, school function, graduation, recital, and any other event they could for their grandkids. They even travelled as far as Italy, Quebec City, Prince Edward Island, Virginia, and all the states in between to spend time with and support their grandchildren.

Jane touched the hearts of those who knew her. Loved ones will miss the sound of her infectious laugh, kind-hearted nature, generosity, and the bacon blanket she would create for the turkey at Thanksgiving.

Jane is survived by her husband of 38 years, David, and her children along with their spouses; Bill Chapman (Maureen) of Daytona, FL; Deborah Eremita (Mark) of Dedham, ME; Sharon Achorn (John) of Chesapeake, VA; Dale Chapman (Ann) of Eddington, ME; Richard Chapman (Heather) of Bangor, ME; Tim Mahon (Leslee) of Mars Hill, ME; Kim Mahon of Carmel, ME; Laurie True Cates of Bangor, ME; and Brian True of Bangor, ME.

Jane was affectionately called “Mamma” and “Mammers” by her grandchildren: Billy, Alex, Jen, Sarah, Jason, Kristin, Jessica, Lauren, Kasey, Jake, Jack, Molly, Ally, Rebecca, Alyssa, Hannah, Michael, Timmy, Samantha, Haley, Nick, and her 13 great-grandchildren - with one on the way.

Out of her 9 siblings Jane leaves behind Maurice Lampron of Laconia, NH; Theresa Thomas of Keene, NH; and Richard (Dick) Lampron of Wolfeboro, NH. As well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Jane was pre-deceased by her second husband Arnold (Dick) True, her parents, her siblings: Alice Champagne, May Beaulieu, Leo Lampron, Irene Berry, Bob Lampron, and Annette Kimball; and her special niece Marie Glidden.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to Kim Mahon for looking after Jane, and to the hospice nurse Norma, along with the team at Gentiva, who provided end of life care.
