Obituary of Jack H. Chan
Jack H. Chan, 91, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 27, 1933, in Canton, China the son of Wei Yin Chan and Li Yu Jung.
Jack was the proud owner of the Asian Palace Restaurant from 1998 to 2004 at 877 Stillwater Avenue in Bangor, Maine. He loved shaking customers' hands and saying hello and his classic thank you. He immigrated to the United States in 1965 and first arrived in Miami, Florida. He worked long, hard hours as a kitchen hand and learned the craft of the kitchen. By the early 1980s, Jack had made his way up to New York and eventually to Houlton, Maine by 1985. He finally settled in Bangor in 1997, and the rest is history. He loved going out to eat with his family and loved watching football games.
Throughout the 80s and early 90s, Jack was able to help multiple family members immigrate over to the United States from China. They all became successful and have families of their own now. For that, Jack is very loved and thought of by all in his family.
