Peter Miale, 83, a mensch and kvetch who spent his life in conversation with those he loved and with God, died on November 16, 2024. Born in Jamaica Queens to Louis and Tanya Miale, Peter roved around many parts of the country and worked as a thoughtful and committed social worker. His changing avocations, although too numerous to list, were pursued with the intensity of a specialist. Among them were Chinese cooking, hiking in the White Mountains, and the study of mosses, Shakespeare, weather, and history. He studied and practiced his Catholic and Jewish traditions and, like an Old Testament prophet, constantly wrestled with God. Peter was more loveable and beloved than he knew and leaves behind many whose lives he touched.
