Later on, he carried on his passion for tinkering on just about anything mechanical. Mike was a proud truck driver for many years working for H. E. Sargent, H. C. Haynes, and H. O. Bouchard as well as owning his own businesses as a truck driver hauling equipment or livestock and finally owning his stump grinding business.

Mike was predeceased by his wife, Patty (Cote) Burrell, his parents, Micky and Mary (McDougal) Burrell and his brothers, Sherwood Burrell and Malcolm Burrell.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Burrell) Wyman and husband, Chance of Dexter; his brothers, Brian Burrell and Reagan Burrell both of Newport; his granddaughter, Cayla (Wyman) Brawn and husband, Cody with their children and his great-grandchildren, Chandler Brawn and Camdyn Brawn of Exeter; and his very special friend Connie Arnold of Newport as well as his special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
