What a wonderful and kind man the world has lost. Lived his life in dedication to others. Such an honor to have been one of his many Godchildren.

Skip was an amazing man. A mind like a computer, he watched the amount of money you produced to pay your bill and instantly placed your change on the counter, He told me he was born upstairs over the shop. I lived 150 miles north north of Bangor but often bought sandwiches from him.

My condolences to Skip’s family and friends. Always greeted with laughter and a ribbing coming across the Brewer bridge.

Skip was one of kindest people I’ve known. We live in Rockwood, where he had a cabin and I sold him a boat which he owned for a short time. Every time he headed north, he always brought Coffee Pots to us at the marina, always rolling in with style in his shiny Cadillac cars. Even after he closed he would travel to the bakery, get the bread and “do the best he could,” he’d say. On at least once occasion I’d be picking something up at the Bangor Mall and would run into him and his buddies having coffee or walking and would join them. I haven’t had a Coffee Pot since the last one he brought to me. It just wouldn’t have been the same and it never will. We are better folks for having known him. May his family and friends find peace in this difficult time.

We say "A Dieu" to an old friend, Bangor icon and faithful communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Parish. Skip was always a familar friendly face at Mass at St. John's, as a sacristan for funeral masses or standing in a long line awaiting one of the classic Coffee Pots that he, his family and staff made. A steel trap of a mind. To say Skip was a master multi-tasker would be an understatement as he managed the steady stream of orders that came through The Coffee Pot daily. Rest in Peace.
