Bucksport--Ricky (Rick) P. St. Louis, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home in Bucksport on Thursday, February 27, 2020. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 5, 1957, the oldest of four sons, to Richard (Dick) and Donna (Russell) St. Louis. He grew up in Brewer and was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1975. Rick was a hard worker from the age of 15, working for several businesses in the Bangor-Brewer area. After graduation, he worked for his father’s business, Dick's Glass, in Brewer and then managed Portland Glass. After moving to Ellsworth in the mid-80’s, Rick became a Snap-on Tools dealer where he met many people who became life-long friends. He eventually returned to the glass business, working for Portland Glass and Glass Source before being asked to join Sunrise Glass, where he was employed for the past 24+ years until the time of his passing. Rick was a very sociable person, always quick with a joke or a bit of sarcasm that only he could deliver to friends, family, and acquaintances alike. He did not discriminate. Those who knew him best knew that if he was poking fun or hassling you, it was meant to be playful. His short catchphrases, ‘whatever,’ ‘seriously,’ ‘unreal,’ ‘figures,’ and ‘big wheel’ were used frequently in daily conversations. Rick was a kind, gentle soul with a big heart. He was a genuinely good person who would do anything for anyone. Rick loved spending time with family during get togethers, Red Sox games, journeys to Salem, and visits to NYC. He enjoyed riding his Harley (with his signature ‘In Debt’ license plate)—taking trips with friends to Daytona Bike Week, Vermont, Laconia, Statewide, Owls Head, and thousands of short rides in between. He also enjoyed the simple things—Led Zeppelin, popping tic tacs, going out to eat, drinking milk, and eating chocolate, junk food, and late-night snacks. Over the past couple of years, he developed the hobby of target shooting, which he engaged in weekly with close friends. Rick is survived by his parents of Brewer; son, Nick of Otis; daughter, Ashley (his ‘Lovey’) of Brewer; brothers, Gary and wife Jane of Maryland, Randy of New York, Rob and partner Lisa Leavitt of Carmel; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; his person, love and life partner of 24 years, Kelly Moore of Bucksport; stepson, Jeremy Porter and wife Kathryn of Gorham; Kelly’s family, who Rick thought of as his own: brothers, Kevin and wife Brenda of Oxford, Cecil of Oxford, Andy and partner Tisha Smith, Eric and wife Corinne, Morgan and wife Renee, all of Mechanic Falls, mother, Maureen and brother-in-law, John Ready of Verona, and their families; countless friends from all aspects of his life—too many to mention by name—you all know who you are and how much you meant to him. Rick's illness was sudden and brief, taking him and all of those who love him by surprise. Throughout his brief ordeal, he did not complain, instead he chose to remain hopeful, often reassuring those around him that things would be okay with a thumbs up and ‘I got this.’ He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. At Rick's request, there will be no service. Celebrations of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick's memory can be made to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter, 263 Main Street, Bangor, ME 04401 or American Red Cross, 145 Exchange Street, Suite 1, Bangor, ME 04401. Messages and memories may be shared with Rick’s family at kileyandfoley.com. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. "Took a look down a westbound road, right away I made my choice. Headed out to my big two-wheeler, I was tired of my own voice. Took a bead on the northern plains and just rolled that power on…Stood alone on a mountain top, starin’ out at the Great Divide. I could go east, I could go west, it was all up to me to decide. Just then I saw a young hawk flyin’, and my soul began to rise.” – Bob Seger
