I was heartbroken when I heard the news... Tom and I probably officiated a thousand hockey games together starting with youth league, then travel league, men's league, high school and eventually college hockey. We spent many hours in the car driving to and from games sometimes late at night. We had such funny conversations especially after games. When we worked a game together, it was as if we were one mind. I always instinctively knew where he was, knew he would cover for me if I got blocked out or knocked down. If I saw a penalty I wanted to call, I would look over and see Tom already had his hand in the air. We saw the game the same way. We also played many games together in the "Cardiac" league. His speed and skill were incredible and his skating ability was a joy to watch. He was always humble and self effacing on the ice and off. His kindness and sense of humor made him someone I always enjoyed being around. It feels like part of me has died too... This loss will be felt for a long time.
