It is said that behind every great man is a great woman. That was truly the case with my good friend and neighbor, Lionel Doucette. The wonderful and well- written tribute speaks with great accuracy with respect to the abundance of virtues, talents, and qualities which were bestowed upon Simone, that were only amplified through the remarkable synergy that existed between she and her beloved Lionel, another high quality individual. The beautiful picture of a beautiful woman clearly reveals the kindness in her eyes, joie de vivre, warmth, and color, which were hers in abundance, which, again, were only amplified by the power of the love shared between her and Lionel. THEY WERE A TEAM !!! With that being an indisputable reality, it did not come as a surprise to me that their departures from this life were in such close proximity one to another. As my daughter and I ate supper this evening, she told me " I am going to miss my Memere Doucette ". I am convinced that many more will feel likewise. I view it as a supreme honor to have known and loved both Lionel and Simone Doucette, and to have been known and loved by them in return. Much, much, more than my most sincere, heartfelt, and profound condolences are extended to you at this time, dear family of Lionel and Simone Doucette, who are the legacy that doubtless brought great pride and joy to their huge hearts.
