Daniel E. Ford-Coates, 24, of Bangor, ME, passed away on April 2, 2024. Daniel was born June 23, 1999 in Bangor, son of Shannon (Ford) Richard and Steve Coates. 

Daniel, to mom; Danny, to dad; Dan to most, grew up primarily in Brewer with his mother, but spent most his school vacations and summers in NC, TX, and FL with his father (active duty USAF). Dan attended and played sports for Brewer schools. He graduated from Brewer High School in 2017. Dan enjoyed life to its fullest whether he was on vacation, having family time, playing video games, walking/playing with Loki his German Shepard, spending time with friends, particularly his best friend Dylan Henderson. He also loved watching and playing most sports, but especially football and baseball. He had an enormous heart and a smile just as big. He is loved by so many and will be immeasurably missed. He will forever be in countless wonderful memories for all who were lucky enough to know him.

Daniel was killed in his home. His family is still processing the particulars but regardless of the details, they will never understand the grounds of his death. He is survived by both his parents; little sister, Cloey Coates of Florida; stepmother, Maria “Re Re” McGrath Coates of Florida; stepfather, Moses Richard; step siblings, Tyler, Lexi and Kade Richard; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by all of his grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held 5:30 PM Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Penobscot County Conservation Association, 570 N Main St. Brewer, ME. The family is asking everyone to wear blue (his favorite color) or a sports jersey.
